For the most part, I like to remain anonymous, but on this page, I will reveal some true facts about me that may help you figure out which of my stories are real and which are fake.
Clues
1. I am a full-time writer, so I write many stories under other pen names, not just these scary stories. When writing, you must learn how to suspend the reader's disbelief. You have to make sure there aren't any plot holes or information that sounds too weird or coincidental to be true in order to convince people that your stories are real. Because of this, I am good at making up stories that sound believable. but real life isn't believable. Truth is stranger than fiction.
So you may be trying to figure out which stories are true by finding the plot holes in my fake stories, but the reality is you should be doing the opposite. The more ridiculously fake the story sounds, the more likely it is to be the real story. Because I can't change how real events occurred in order to make them more believable or interesting. I just have to state them plainly or they are no longer the truth.
This is the biggest clue I can give you, so keep it in mind.
2. I've lived in many places in my lifetime. I lived in a small town for many years, but now I live (and have lived in the past) in big cities. Some of my real life stories take place in the small town where I lived and some take place in big cities. If you guessed only the small town stories or only the big city ones, you guessed wrong.
3. The small town I used to live in was in a forested area, in the mountains.
4. I wear glasses. Without my glasses, almost everything is blurry, except things that are really close up.
5. I am an adult woman and am currently married, although many of my stories take place before I was married and when I was much younger. At least two of my stories (thus far) take place after I've gotten married.
6. My parents never protected me from anything and tended to always think I was overreacting when I was frightened by something, so a lot of my stories happened because adults just didn't care and left me somewhere or because my family members were unwilling to go with me certain places to check on things when I was frightened.
7. I've owned three cats in my lifetime and three dogs, so far. The majority of them had black fur.
8. With my first three books, the number of the true story is different for each one. What I mean by this is for one of the books, story one is true, for another one, story two is true, for another one, story three is true. Every single one of those three is different. So if you think story three is true for all three books, you are wrong about at least one of the stories you guess.
This is such a huge clue that I might delete it later.
9. I'm a terrible liar. I'm good at writing stories, but I am terrible at lying. This is one reason, of many, why I don't have any social media pages. I might get an Instagram or something someday, but otherwise I'd rather stay off social media and anonymous. Because if you ask me enough questions, I am going to accidentally forget details of things that have happened to me that will make it more obvious which stories are true and which are fake. Writing one of my blog posts this month, I accidentally started writing about some of the details of one of the stories that I wrote about and didn't realize until right before I posted it that I had to delete the whole thing because that would reve3al which story was the true one.
I'll never formally tell you which stories are true and which are false, but read enough of my blog posts or interviews and I'm going to eventually accidentally mess up and reveal too much.
10. Just because some of my stories may have some of these details in them, it doesn't mean those stories are true. I try to add little sprinklings of my real life experiences to the untrue stories to make them more believable.
